Applications for the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams will open on December 29.
The matter was confirmed by SM Matiur Rahman, spokesperson for the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Job seekers can apply online through the website bpsc.teletalk.com.bd from 10am on December 29 until 11:59pm on January 30.
Initially scheduled to begin on December 10, the application process was delayed as the PSC awaited an official announcement regarding reduced application fees.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice confirming the fee reduction and setting the new application fee at Tk200. Which was Tk700 earlier.
For disadvantaged groups, the fee is Tk50.
The age criteria for applicants are 21 to 32 years, following the ministry's decision to increase the maximum age limit from 30 to 32.
The revised rules also reduce the oral examination score from 200 to 100.
The preliminary exam is expected to be held in May next year, with the specific date, time, and instructions to be announced on the PSC website and in the media.
The two-hour preliminary test will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions, with one mark awarded for each correct answer and a deduction of 0.5 marks for incorrect answers.
The written exam will be held in eight divisional cities, while the oral exam will take place at the PSC head office. Requests for center changes will not be entertained.
This 47th BCS examination will recruit candidates for 3,688 government jobs, including 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre posts.
