The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested a murder suspect and an alleged bomb maker at the Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
The arrestee has been identified as Sohel alias Koshai Sohel. He was arrested from the capital’s Gabtoli area.
Confirming the matter, ASP Shihab Karim, assistant director of RAB-2, said recently, seven people lost their lives in clashes between two groups over control and dominance of the drug trade in Geneva Camp. Among the deceased, two, including a child, died due to bomb blasts. Additionally, over 20 people, including sanitation workers, were injured by the bomb explosions.
ASP Shihab Karim further said that a few bomb makers from the Geneva Camp itself were responsible for making crude bombs and cocktail bombs, with Sohel being one of the main figures.
Several cases, including murder and drug-related charges, have been filed against him at the Mohammadpur police station.
