Mahmudur Rahman, the editor of Amar Desh newspaper, has called for the removal of current President Mohammed Shahabuddin and the appointment of Dr Muhammad Yunus as the new president.
He made the request on Monday during a dialogue at the National Press Club.
He urged Dr Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government, to remove the president and take on the responsibilities of leadership by forming a national government.
He suggested inviting political parties to participate in this process, emphasizing that when these parties are united, no third party can seize power.
Mahmudur Rahman said this would send a strong international message that the people of Bangladesh are united, rendering any conspiracies from Delhi futile.
