The joining date for officials appointed to various cadres of the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) has been postponed.
The Ministry of Public Administration announced this in a notification issued on Monday evening.
As per the notification, the joining date for these officials has been rescheduled from November 17 to January 1.
On October 15, the ministry published a gazette officially appointing 2,064 candidates from the 43rd BCS.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) initially recommended 2,163 candidates for cadre posts on December 26 last year, but the gazette was issued 10 months later, excluding 99 candidates.
The recruitment order, issued by the New Recruitment Division of the ministry, includes appointments to several cadres: 293 in the Administration cadre, 96 in the Police cadre, 25 in the Foreign Service cadre, 32 in the Audit and Accounts cadre, and 22 in the Information cadre, among others.
