An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 shook several regions of the country, including the capital city of Dhaka, early on Friday.
The tremor happened at 12:43am, the Germany-based Volcano Discovery organization confirmed.
According to its website, the epicentre was located 41 kilometres south of Dhaka, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
In addition to Dhaka, tremors were also felt in Chittagong and Barisal divisions.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
Users on social media platforms like Facebook posted about feeling the tremor in different parts of the country.
