As the Hindu community celebrates its largest religious festival, Durga Puja, the Primary and Mass Education Adviser, Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar stated that all faiths coexist peacefully in Bangladesh.

While visiting the Siddheswari Kali Mandir at Bailey Road, he said: "Durga Puja is being celebrated peacefully throughout the country, and everything is in order till now."

The adviser, however, emphasized the importance of maintaining religious harmony and solidarity among the people to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the country.

"If we can keep the harmony and solidarity up, then the miscreants will not be able to accomplish their ill intentions", he added.

He said: “People of all religious faiths have been living in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere in the country for a long time, celebrating their own religious festivals with harmony.”

"Religion is for the individual, but every individual is equal to the state", the adviser said.

The adviser later distributed cloths among the people in need.
