Residents of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) can now obtain birth and death certificates and other documents from the regional executive officers (REOs) instead of having to visit the ward councilor's office.
This information was confirmed by sources at the Nagar Bhaban of DSCC on Tuesday.
A departmental order has already been issued to ensure the continuity of citizen services for all wards in DSCC.
The power has been delegated to the regional executive officers through a departmental order signed by the corporation's secretary, Mohammad Bashirul Haque Bhuiyan.
To obtain citizen certificates, heirship certificates, and other documents, residents of any ward in the south city will need to submit their applications to the relevant regional executive officer, along with the necessary information and evidence.
Upon receiving the application, the “ward secretary” of the concerned ward or an appointed 'responsible' officer will verify and investigate the submitted documents.
If the application is found to be accurate, the certificate will be issued accordingly.
