Amid protests over the age limit for entering public service, the government has formed a two-member committee to review the issue and recommend changes.
The move comes as tensions escalated after a clash between police and demonstrators in Dhaka on Monday.
The committee has been asked to submit a report with recommendations within the next seven days.
This information was shared by Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry, Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman, during a press conference at the secretariat on Monday.
Former caretaker government adviser Abdul Mueed Chowdhury has been made the head of the committee, while Mokhlesur Rahman will serve as member secretary.
