Nasreen Zamir, honorary consul of Luxembourg to Bangladesh, on Sunday visited the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics Rehabilitation (NITOR), commonly known as Pongu Hospital, to extend her support to those affected by the recent mass uprising.
Nasreen said the visit had shaken her and had been very painful, adding that money was insignificant in comparison to the devastation of their shattered dreams.
"Young people are lying in hospital beds, traumatized and grappling with the loss of their limbs, their thoughts thrown into disarray.
"While money can help, it is not enough to pull them out of the despair they currently find themselves in.”
"These young people lie in bed, their dreams dimmed, though some still cling to a glimmer of hope. It will take time for us all to recover from this harrowing ordeal," she added.
Nasreen is also an interior designer, artist and entrepreneur.
