Hasnat Abdullah, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, issued a statement clarifying their position on the relief and money raised to help the flood victims.

He made the statement through a post on Facebook at around 11:30pm on Saturday.

Hasnat Abdullah said the income and expenditure of the TSC flood relief program were disclosed through a press briefing on September 4. “Funds, excluding expenses, are kept in various accounts: Dhaka University’s Janata Bank, Sonali Bank branches, Islamic Bank, and mobile banking."

Hasnat added that special accounts have been opened in the names of a Dhaka University teacher, a female student, and a male student. Funds can only be transferred with the combined signatures of these three individuals. No funds have been transferred from this account so far.

He further said that to ensure transparency, an audit of the relief program's income and expenditure is underway and the audit report will be released in the coming days.

“We are always open to constructive criticism. If there are any specific misunderstandings, please highlight them so we can improve our work. May Bangladesh become a model of transparency and accountability in the future,” he said in the post.
