Three army officers sent into forced retirement, one dismissed

Three senior officers of Bangladesh Army have been sent into forced retirement on Tuesday.

Moreover, another officer Lieutenant General Md Mujibur Rahman, who was posted at Mymensingh Cantonment, has been terminated.

Those sent into retirement are Lieutenant Generals Md Saiful Alam, Ahammad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury and Major General Hamidul Haque.

Of them, Saiful Alam served as director general of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).

He served as an area commander for the 11th Infantry Division of Bogra Cantonment.

The action against the officers was taken following Section-16 under the Army Act.

The forced retirements will be effective within 15 days since the orders were issued.

The Ministry of Defence issued two separate notifications dated September 10 in this regard.
