5 injured in factional clash from rally of Sramik Dal at Ashulia

A factional clash between two groups of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal has resulted in at least five people being injured at Ashulia in Savar.

The incident occurred around 3:30pm on Saturday at a rally held at the Bypail North Bengal Bus Stand area on the Nabinnagar-Chandra Highway.

The rally was organized to protest against vandalism of industrial facilities, worker unrest, and conspirators.

Former Member of Parliament Dr Dewan Md Salauddin Babu was the chief guest at the event.

Among the injured was Mazharul Islam Khan, who claimed to be the General Secretary of the Dhamsona Union Sramik Dal unit.

Details of the other injured individuals have not been disclosed.

Witnesses reported that the rally, organized by the Ashulia unit of Sramik Dal, initially faced chaos over the temporary stage set up on a truck.

Mazharul Islam Khan was removed from the stage, leading to a group attacking him.

This incident escalated into a clash between two groups, with chairs being damaged during the altercation.

In response to the incident, Mazharul Islam Khan stated that he was attacked by supporters of Gafur Chairman and Mokhles Khan after being thrown off the stage.

He claimed that at least five people, including himself, were injured and that he is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

When contacted for a comment, Abdul Gafur, General Secretary of the Ashulia Thana BNP, declined to provide a statement.
