A security guard has been arrested for allegedly inciting unrest among garment workers in Gazipur.
A joint force operation led to the arrest in the Konabari BSCIC industrial area of the city early Friday.
The arrestee is Moniruzzaman, 46, is a resident of Deowalia Badi area in Gazipur and works as a security guard.
According to the police, there have been incidents of protests and vandalism in various garment factories in the Gazipur industrial zones of Tongi and Konabari over the past few days, driven by various demands.
Due to the sudden unrest in the factories, factory owners and union leaders suspect that there might be external instigation involved. To address this instability, a joint force operation has been underway in Gazipur since Monday.
As part of this operation, the security guard was arrested.
