The water levels of all major rivers in Bangladesh are now flowing below the danger level.
According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre, the water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna and Padma rivers are receding and are expected to continue decreasing over the next 48 hours.
Similarly, the water levels of the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern region are also decreasing and are likely to maintain normal flow during the same period.
Water levels in the major rivers of the northeastern and eastern regions of the country, including the Manu River, are also decreasing.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, there is no forecast of heavy rainfall in the northeastern and eastern regions of the country and the adjoining upstream areas over the next 48 hours.
As a result, the water levels of rivers in these areas, such as the Surma, Kushiyara, Manu, Khowai, Feni, Muhuri, Gumti, and Titas, are expected to decrease further and continue flowing below the danger level.
The water levels in the major rivers of the southeastern region are also beginning to recede.
Meteorological data indicates that no heavy rainfall is expected in the southeastern region and the adjoining upstream areas over the next 48 hours.
Consequently, the water levels of rivers in this region, including the Sangu, Matamuhuri, Karnaphuli, Halda, and other major rivers, are likely to decrease.
