Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that there is no shortage of relief and medicine for the flood-affected people.

Despite the severe intensity of the flood, it is possible to resolve all issues with the support of the public, said Jahangir Alam.

He made these remarks during a relief and medicine distribution event for flood-affected individuals at the Noakhali Police Training Centre on Monday afternoon.

The Home Affairs advisor said: “There will be no shortage of relief and medicines. Everything will reach everyone. The delivery of relief supplies is delayed in some areas due to difficulties in reaching them, but this issue will not persist for long. With the help of the public, the administration will be able to reach all areas. Please cooperate with the administration.”

He further mentioned: “I have learned that the regulator (sluice gate) at Musampur in Companyganj has completely collapsed. We will take swift action to rebuild it. I urge the public to also assist and cooperate with us. With everyone's efforts, we are sure to achieve positive results.”

Earlier, at around 10:45am, the Home Affairs advisor distributed relief and medicines in Feni’s Chhagalnaiya via helicopter under the supervision of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

BGB's public relations officer Shariful Islam said that the Home Affairs advisor distributed relief supplies to 500 flood-affected families in Feni and Noakhali on behalf of the BGB.
