Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap has been detained from Nakhalpara in the capital.
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) announced that he was detained just before 3pm on Sunday.
Tejgaon police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain confirmed.
Abdus Sobhan Golap was a member of parliament for the Madaripur-3 constituency. He lost in the election held earlier this year in January.
