A second grader named Jannatul Adni from Ideal School donated her savings coins to help the flood-affected people.
This morning, accompanied by her mother, she went to the donation booth set up by the Jagannath University (JnU) students who donated the money.
The girl said: "I have been saving these coins for a long time. This morning, I told my mother I wanted to donate them to help the flood victims. So, we came here to donate the money."
During this time, Sohan Pramanik, a JnU student responsible for collecting the donations, said: "These young children are our future. We thought our next generation might be heading towards darkness, but they are proving us wrong by donating to the flood victims.
It is truly commendable. We should learn from them. Like these children, we should all find ways to help the flood-affected as much as possible."
On Saturday afternoon, another child, Rudra Nandi, donated the money intended for his birthday cake. That night, Safwan, who is in the first grade, also donated money he had saved for two years for the flood victims.
