The newly appointed Liberation War Affairs Adviser, Farooq-e-Azam, Bir Pratik, has said that the Liberation War's image suffered the most damage during the quota movement.

He made comment after paying tribute to the martyrs at the National Martyrs' Memorial on Wednesday.

The Adviser said: "We will sit down to reorganize the ministry. We need to plan and do this together. The Liberation War's image suffered the most damage during the recent quota movement. We will look into this from various perspectives."

Farooq further mentioned: "The most important issue is that the Liberation War became the central focus while struggling during the quota movement. Nationally and internationally, freedom fighters are facing an image crisis. The past authoritarian regime has identified freedom fighters as an opportunistic class. Therefore, regarding reorganization, we will move forward in the future by considering the opinions of true freedom fighters, acknowledging their sacrifices and heroism."

When asked by journalists about the steps regarding the list of fake freedom fighters, he said: "We will sit down and plan with everyone in the ministry regarding the list of freedom fighters. We will make a decision on what needs to be done. You will all know. Many decisions need to be made in a real sense. We all think, and whatever the plan and implementation will be, it will be in front of everyone. However, there will be reform, and it will be a drastic reform.

"We have created many fantasy stories about various things. We will bring the truth out from the shadows and present it to everyone. I hope this will bring peace to the souls of the martyrs for whom we laid wreaths here today," Farooq added.
