Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Joint Secretary General Mahi Badruddoza Chowdhury could not enter Bangabhaban due to the anger of BNP leaders and activists.
Chowdhury was seen apologizing from inside his car in front of the Bangabhaban gate, before eventually driving towards Gulistan.
He arrived at the outer gate of Bangabhaban in a car around 8:40pm on Thursday.
Upon recognizing him, the BNP leaders and activists gathered outside grew agitated, attacking the car and blocking its path for about 10 minutes while chanting "Dalal Dalal."
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of Bikalpa Dhara, Major (Retd) Abdul Mannan, had already entered Bangabhaban.
Mahi B Chowdhury is the son of former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury. He first joined the BNP in August 1992 and was elected to parliament for the first time in the 2002 by-election from the Munshiganj-1 constituency, after the seat was vacated when his father became president of Bangladesh.
