Following the fall of the government, there has been an increasing number of wastes on various streets of the city.
On Wednesday around 12pm, general students started the cleaning program from Faujdari Mor area of the city.
First, the students gathered in Faujdari Mor area of the city. Later, they divided into several groups and conducted cleaning activities in different parts of the city.
Students of universities, schools, and colleges as well as members of various voluntary organizations participated in this work.
Students cleaned various areas including the District Commissioner's Office, Faujdari Mor, Doyamoyi Mor, Sakal Bazar, Gatepar, Bypass Mor, Panch Rasta Mor and Govt Ashek Mahmud College.
Nishan Zakaria, a student who participated in the cleanup, said that a lot of garbage has accumulated in various places and government buildings of Jamalpur city due to the long-term agitation.
Another student named Abdul Munnaf said that students have started this cleaning campaign on their own initiative. Since the victory of the people of the country has been achieved in the face of the movement of students and common people. A beautiful Bangladesh will be built with common people of all classes and professions and all political parties, he added.
Students were also seen working to restore the city's traffic system, which had been closed since last Sunday. They kept the traffic system running at different parts of the city.
