Protests and rallies were held at various locations in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Friday in response to the violence and mass arrests stemming from the quota reform movement, and to press for the students' nine-point demands.

Local college and university students held a protest rally at the ECB chattar.

Around 4pm, they marched from Matikata to ECB chattar, where they held their protest until 5pm. During this time, police surrounded the area.

Earlier, around 3:30pm, the protesting students began gathering in Matikata. Nearby, Awami League and Jubo League members stood with sticks, but police intervened to prevent conflict, moving the Awami League members away and clearing the road for the student march.

The police maintained a strict presence alongside the procession. Despite the rain, approximately 200 students continued their protest at ECB chattar.

At Mirpur-10, students from various colleges and universities gathered around 4:30pm.

They marched from the Mirpur 10 Golchattar, through Mirpur 2, looped around Original 10, and returned to the roundabout.

The students chanted slogans and protested while additional police were deployed to the area.

Police urged the students to end the protest and leave the area, which they did around 5:50pm.

These protests were part of a nationwide movement by the Anti-Discriminatory Student Movement, which included prayers, visits to the graves of the deceased, and mass rallies to demand justice for those killed in the violence and the release of arrested students.
