After a 14-day suspension due to nationwide unrest following the quota reform movement, commuter trains resumed operations on a limited scale on Thursday.
However, intercity trains will remain out of service for now.
Earlier, the Additional Director General of Bangladesh Railway, Md Arifuzzaman, had announced that train services would begin again on Thursday.
Authorities suspended operations of commuter trains on July 18.
