Four countries of the European Union - Italy, Germany, Greece, and Romania - will take 3,000 workers from Bangladesh.
Depending on their performance, more workers will be taken in future, Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud told reporters on Sunday.
He made the comment following a farewell call on of European Union Ambassador in Dhaka Charles Whiteley at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Depending on the skills of these 3,000 workers, the EU ambassador also informed about the possibility of hiring more workers in the future," he said.
They also discussed Bangladesh's economic development.
Bangladesh will be upgraded from a least-developed country to a middle-income country in 2026.
"It has been discussed that the benefits we get from the EU for our products will continue till 2032," the foreign ministry said.
