Two individuals were killed and three others injured in a car accident at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
The incident occurred early Tuesday, during the night of Eid.
The deceased are Sayem Reza Rabbi, 28, a pharmacy business owner, and his friend Mohammad Rasel, 30, employed by a private company.
The injured include Ratul, 27, Sagar, 28, and Biplob, 30. They all went out for a drive in Dhaka on Eid night.
According to Rabbi's father, they were driving in Ratul's private car and lost control near the eastern side of the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, crashing into a tree. This resulted in serious injuries to all five friends.
Later, they were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 1:30am on Monday, where duty doctor Rabbi and Rasel declared them dead.
The injured Ratul and Sagar receive treatment at DMCH, while Biplob is admitted to another private hospital in Dhaka.
DMCH Police Outpost Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Md Masud Mia said: “The bodies are kept in the hospital morgue.”
