The government on Monday fixed the price of cowhide at Tk55-60 per square feet in the capital and Tk50-55 outside of it.
The decision was taken at a meeting on fixing the rawhide prices on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the Secretariat.
Mohiuddin Ahmed Mahim, chairman of Bangladesh Finished Leather, said the Leather Goods and Footwear Exporters Association, announced the price of cowhide in presence of the State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Tito at the meeting.
Tanners collect 4.11m salted rawhideAccording to the new price, the price of per piece cowhide has been fixed at Tk1,200 in the capital while Tk1,000 outside the capital.
