No respite from heatwave in five days

  • Night temperature to rise slightly
  • Weather to remain mainly dry

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday warned that the mild to moderate heatwave that has been sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions will continue for the next five days. 

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly across Bangladesh, said a BMD bulletin commencing at 9am. 

The weather may also remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, with no chances of rain in the next 24 hours. 

The sun sets at 6:20pm on Monday and rises at 5:36am on Tuesday in the capital.
