Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder has said unfit vehicles will not be allowed on the highways during Eid.

“If anyone attempts to do so, immediate action will be taken through the local administration,” he said during his inspection at the Gabtoli Bus Terminal on Saturday.
Nur Mohammad Mazumder said: "I have requested garment owners to requisition buses from BRTC instead of using unfit vehicles. Therefore, there is no chance of unfit vehicles on the roads."

He mentioned that the local administration is keeping a vigilant watch to prevent unfit vehicles from attempting to enter the roads.

The BRTA chairman further said: "Every year, there are common complaints about some unfit vehicles making their way onto the roads during Eid. To prevent this, we have reserved 550 buses from BRTC.

Every year, we inspect these terminals to ensure that people's Eid journeys are comfortable. Here at the Gabtoli Bus Terminal, our mobile court, vigilance team, and monitoring team are operational. I visited various ticket counters and observed that fares are being reduced in most places."
