A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping parts of the country, and it may spread.
“A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the Bagerhat, Kushtia, and Chuadanga districts, and it may spread,” said a Met office bulletin.
Due to the increased moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist, it said.
Besides, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, with hail at isolated places.
The weather may remain mainly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.
Daytime temperatures may rise by 1-2°C, and nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged throughout the country.
A trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal lows lie over South Bay.
