The forest department has recovered a carcass of an adult male Royal Bengal Tiger from Kachikhali area of Sharankhola range of East Sundarbans on Monday.
Two expert veterinarians from Sarankhola and Moralganj, Bagerhat were sent to Kachikhali forest office in Sarankhola range to conduct an autopsy to find out the exact cause of the tiger's death on Tuesday.
Khulna Divisional Conservator of Forests (CF) Mihir Kumar Doe confirmed the information and said that an autopsy is required to know the cause of death of the adult male Royal Bengal tiger.
The exact cause of the tiger's death will be known only after the autopsy report, he added.
The forest department will preserve the skin, teeth and claws of the dead tiger.
The forest official said the tiger's carcass would be buried in Kachikhali.
The number of Bengal tigers in the Bangladesh part of the Sundarbans forests has increased to 114, according to the recent tiger census.
The number rose to 114 in 2018, up from 106 recorded during a previous survey in 2015.
