Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that in the last 15 years, various metropolitan police traffic departments in the country have collected a fine of Tk775.87 crore.
The home minister gave this information in a written reply to a question of Awami League member Nurunnabi Chowdhury in the session of the National Parliament on Monday.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury presided over the session.
Responding to how much money have the different metropolitan police made through fines in the last 15 years, the home minister said that traffic departments of various metropolitan police have collected Tk775,87,24,807 through fines and deposited it in the government treasury.
In response to a question from another Member of Parliament Jahangir Alam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the dilapidated police stations in various places have been replaced with modern and necessary offices.
With the aim of creating residential facilities, a project on the construction of administrative and barrack buildings in different parts of the country in Bangladesh police stations has been accepted. The Development Project Proposal (DPP) of the project has been sent to the Planning Commission for approval.
