Islami Andolan Bangladesh has announced new programs demanding re-election by dissolving the parliament formed “illegally”, protesting the controversial education curriculum and government’s effort to legalize transgender and homosexuality.

The party made the announcement during a meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

The party has announced a protest program in districts and metropolitan areas across Bangladesh, including a protest rally in Dhaka on Saturday.

They will also hold a national round-table meeting on February 7. Additionally, from February 15 to 19, the party will conduct a five-day nationwide campaign to recruit new members through an invitation week.

During the meeting, Islami Andolan Bangladesh General Secretary Maulana Yunus Ahmad said: “The nation has been tricked in the name of a one-sided election that costed crores of taka. The Speaker, in the first parliament session, falsely claimed that the Awami League won a majority. The January 7 elections didn't show what the people really wanted. In fact, 90% rejected it. To solve our many problems, we need to have elections under a national government.”

He also called for the formulation of a curriculum in line with the thoughts, culture, and national identity of 92% Muslims by removing inconsistencies in education, including transgender issues, and for preserving the uniqueness of Alia Madrasa by removing unnecessary pictures from its textbooks.

He urged to remove the inconsistency of education including transgender issues and to formulate curriculum in line with the thoughts and consciousness of 92% Muslims and to maintain the uniqueness of the madrasa by excluding unnecessary images from the textbooks of Alia Madrasa.
