Five members of a family suffered burn injuries as miscreants set a house on fire in Dhaka’s Keraniganj in the early hours of Tuesday.
Aminul Islam, additional superintendent of police, said miscreants set the house of Julhas on fire by pouring petrol at 4am. They also locked the door from outside.
Later, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
Neighbours rescued Julhas along with his two children and two other family members from the house after hearing their screams. They were taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
“Police are trying to arrest the arsonists,” said Aminul Islam.
