The government has confirmed that a notification circulating on Facebook announcing a holiday from January 5-8 for the 12th national parliamentary election is fake news.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.
It mentioned that the notification that spread on social media was not issued by the ministry.
The notice said that a general holiday has been declared on January 7 to facilitate the exercise of voting rights and voting.
The notification is displayed on the website of the Ministry of Public Administration www.mopa.gov.bd.
The notification also said: “But it is being observed that a fake notification regarding the declaration of holiday from January 5 to 8 is being circulated on various social media on the occasion of the 12th national parliamentary election. It is not issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.”
The ministry concerned has requested everyone not to consider the false notification.
The 12th national parliamentary election is scheduled to be held on January 7.
