A total of 35 taxpayers from the Sylhet Division received the highest taxpayer award on Monday.
The event was organized by the Sylhet Tax Region and held at a city hotel. The event was chaired by Sylhet's Tax Commissioner Syed Zakir Hossain.
Additional Tax Commissioner (Inspector Range-01) of Tax Zone-Sylhet AZM Nuruzzaman delivered the welcome speech.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to 10 long-term taxpayers, 15 highest taxpayers, five highest female taxpayers, and five young taxpayers under the age of 40 from the Sylhet Division and City Corporation area for their contributions.
Besides, according to the National Tax Card Policy, 2010 (Amended), Dr Md Mamunur Rashid was nominated in the disability category, and Md Jamil Iqbal was nominated in the farm category from Tax Zone-Sylhet for the tax year 2022-2023.
