The Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court has filed a suo moto case to launch an inquiry into a news published in the media recently regarding black-marketing of tickets of Cox’s Bazar Express train on the Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka route.
Judge Sreegyan Tanchangya of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-1 filed the case on Sunday afternoon.
The court asked RAB-15 to investigate the allegation raised about train tickets of the iconic railway station in Cox’s Bazar.
RAB has been asked to probe where the tickets are going, whether there is black-marketing in the hands of any syndicate, and who is involved behind ticket mismanagement.
The court also directed RAB to submit an investigation report within the next 15 days
Cox’s Bazar Express the first-ever train on Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route started running from December 1.
Since the beginning of the first passenger train from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka, there has been a commotion in Cox's Bazar regarding the tickets.
Complaints have been raised that the railway tickets in Cox's Bazar have gone into the hands of the black-market syndicate. And tickets are available only if an additional Tk150 to 200 is paid.
Tickets are not available at the counter every day, even online; all tickets disappear within one and two minutes of 8am.
