Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish has officially declared its non-participation in the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election.
Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed, the acting secretary-general of the party, released a statement on Saturday debunking false rumours about the party's nomination filing for the national election.
Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed clarified that the party actively engages in street protests advocating for elections under a neutral government. Consequently, the notion of participating in unilateral elections under a party-led government is categorically dismissed.
The statement further highlighted the decision taken by the Central Majlish of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish on November 25, where they unequivocally decided against participating in the 12th national parliamentary election under a party government. As a testament to this decision, the party neither distributed any nomination forms nor endorsed any candidates for nomination.
