Doctors will continue the round-the-clock observation of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for one more week as she undergoes treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. She has been hospitalized for the past three months.
The former premier’s physician AZM Zahid Hossain gave the update on Tuesday.
The doctor mentioned that US expert physicians had recommended continuous monitoring for at least four weeks following Khaleda Zia's blood vessel surgery for liver cirrhosis.
With three weeks having elapsed, Zahid Hossain said: “Khaleda Zia will be kept under constant observation of doctors for one more week. After that, a health check-up will be conducted to know if her condition is changing or improving.”
Khaleda Zia has been under treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka since August 9.
The former prime minister has long been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart, and eye problems.
