Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said police are ready for the action that needs to be taken for the BNP rally scheduled for October 28.
The police chief said: “They will hold their political programs but the police force is ready to protect the lives and property of the people and the property of the government.”
He made the comments after inspecting the Durga Puja mandap at Ramakrishna Mission in Narayanganj on Saturday.
He mentioned that security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful Durga Puja, and there's no reason to worry. Durga Puja is proceeding smoothly across the country and will continue to do so in the days ahead.
The IGP said: “Narayanganj is a city of harmony. We are here so that everyone can celebrate Durga Puja safely.”
