Due to the three-day holiday starting on Thursday for Eid-e-Miladunnabi and the two-day weekend on Friday and Saturday, thousands of people have flocked to Kuakata to spend quality time with their families.
As a result, all hotels and motels in the area are fully booked, leaving no vacancies available.
On Thursday afternoon, tourists were seen gathering at the picturesque Kuakata sea beach, also known as "Sagar Kanya" or the "Daughter of the Sea.
Some tourists were seen busy taking selfies with their loved ones, while others were seen to take baths in the sea. Meanwhile, some were simply relaxing on beach benches, enjoying the beauty of Kuakata.
According to the Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners’ Association, hundreds of tourists visit here every time on long holidays. Since the opening of the Padma Bridge, the number of tourists has increased significantly.
They added that the rooms of over 100 hotels and motels in the area are fully booked, but people are still coming to Kuakata.
Hasan Mamun, a tourist from Khulna, said: “I have visited Kuakata many times. As I got a three-day holiday, I wanted to visit again. However, the number of tourists has increased this time.”
When asked about the overall security of tourists, Inspector Hasnain Parvez of the Tourist Police Kuakata Zone said: "Tourists have started coming since Wednesday night, and many people are still coming. We have beefed up security at beaches and other tourist spots.”
