North South University Pharmaceutical Club (NSPUC) organized a rally on Monday, marking World Pharmacists Day 2023.
The program, celebrated in alignment with this year's theme – “Pharmacy Strengthening Health Systems”, was inaugurated by Prof M Ismail Hossain of the university's economics department, reads a press release issued on Monday.
Prof Dr Hasan Mahmud Reza, dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences; Prof Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman, chairman of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Md Muhsin Mia, director of Marketing Operation of ACI, teachers and students of the faculty were present on the occasion.
Dr M Ismail Hossain expressed his pleasure at observing the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department's consistent commitment to raising awareness through a variety of annual events.
His speech reflected upon the profound contributions made by pharmacists worldwide, acknowledging their relentless dedication and unwavering commitment to the betterment of human health.
Dr Hasan Mahmud Reza reflected upon this day and emphasized the pivotal roles played by pharmacists in our community. He also acknowledged the roles played by pharmacists in fortifying health systems.
Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman said NSU is committed to producing pharmaceutical science skilled pharmacists.
Faculty Advisor of NSUPC, Junayet Hossain Khan, accompanied by respected faculty members from the Pharmaceutical Sciences department, were present to uplift the spirits of participating students.
This event was sponsored by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals and News24 which served as a valuable platform for pharmacists from both academic and industrial backgrounds to unite. This presented as an excellent occasion for both students and faculty members to commemorate this day with pride as pharmacists.
