An unidentified man was killed and five people including two pregnant women were injured following a collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and a truck in Bosila of the capital's Mohammadpur area on Saturday morning.
The accident took place around 7am, said Md Ferdous Jaman, sub-inspector of Mohammadpur police station, confirming the matter.
The injured people are two pregnant women Morfia Akhter, 20, Salma Akhter, 22, Rani Begum, 40 and autorickshaw driver Year Hossain, 42. They are residents of Atibazar area of Keraniganj.
They are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Quoting witnesses, police said that the accident took place near Bosila bridge when the truck collided with the autorickshaw, leaving the identified man dead on the spot.
The truck driver managed to flee the scene.
Police seized the vehicles.
