Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Faridpur, Pabna, Sirajganj and Sayedpur and it may continue.
A met office bulletin on Wednesday forecast the weather condition valid for the next 24 hours commencing 9am.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Barisal and Chittagong divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," it said.
However, the bulletin also said that the day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 36.5°C at Ishwardi and Chuadanga, while Wednesday's minimum temperature was Tetulia 24°C.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am was recorded at 63 mm at Khepupara.
The sun sets at 6:19pm on Wednesday and rises at 5:39am on Thursday in the capital.
