A one-and-a-half-year-old boy who went missing after falling into a drain in Chittagong’s Agrabad area on Sunday afternoon was recovered from a drain in Halishahar Rangipara area in Chittagong after 17 hours.
The body was recovered at about 9am on Monday, said Abdur Razzak, deputy assistant director of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence.
He said that the child's body, who had fallen into the drain, was found within the drain adjacent to his house. The body has been returned to the family.
On Sunday afternoon, the child fell into a drain in the KM Hashim Tower vicinity, resulting in the child's disappearance.
Fire service personnel promptly arrived at the scene and initiated the rescue operation after receiving the information around 5:30pm.
