A Jubo Mohila League leader, who was arrested on various charges, including torturing and photographing a teenage girl without clothes in Savar, has been suspended from the organization.

A notification signed by Jubo Mohila League President Daisy Sarwar and General Secretary Sharmin Sultana Lilly announced the suspension of Mehnaz Mishu on Saturday night.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, police arrested the Jubo League leader after a complaint was filed by the teenage victim's mother with Savar Model police station, said Officer-in-Charge Deepak Chandra Saha.

Later, the complaint was recorded as a case, said the OC.

The victim’s mother is the joint general secretary of the Dhaka North unit of Jubo Mohila League.

According to the case statement, Mishu stripped a girl and took pictures of her. The girl was also allegedly drugged and tortured. It also mentions that Mishu attempted to kill the teenager by throwing her down from the fifth-floor balcony.

In this regard, Jubo Mohila League President Daisy Sarwar said Mishi has been suspended for non-organizational activities.
