Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho has expressed solidarity with all the BNP’s demands for the restoration of democracy.
He made the remarks during BJP’s 23rd founding anniversary program in Dhaka on Sunday.
He said: "The demand for restoration of democracy is not the demand of any party, it is now the demand of the people of Bangladesh. That is a fair claim. Therefore, we declare our solidarity with this demand. We will inform you about our program in due course through the secretary general.
"If there is a vote-stealing election this time, the people of Bangladesh will never forgive Awami League again," he added.
He said: "In these 50 years since the Liberation War, progress has been made in diverse sectors, though not as much as anticipated. A significant factor behind this is capable politicians have distanced themselves from politics. This cannot be resolved overnight. Nevertheless, no matter how, we must bring the good people back into politics."
