A Comilla court on Tuesday sentenced three sons to death for killing their father in Manoharganj upazila of the district in 2013.
The judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-3, Rozina Khan, pronounced the verdict this afternoon.
The accused are absconding. The court also fined them Tk20,000 each.
The death convicts are - Md Faiz Ullah, Md Ahid Ullah and Md Shahid Ullah, sons of victim Md Abdul Karim, who was a resident of Kandi area of Manoharganj upazila of the district.
According to the details of the case, on August 26, 2013, father Md Abdul Karim was beaten to death by his three sons, grandsons and relatives for not registering land.
Mosammat Safia Khatun, the second wife of the victim, filed a murder case against eight people, including three sons.
Police submitted a charge sheet against the accused in this case.
After examining the record and witnesses, the court found three sons guilty. The court also acquitted five others from the case.
Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Nurul Islam confirmed the matter.
