Biman to resume Dhaka-Singapore flights on Thursday

Update : 14 Feb 2022, 11:08 AM

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to resume passenger flights from Bangladesh to Singapore from Thursday.

Biman will operate flights every Thursday from October 28 to November 12, and every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday from November 13, Biman said in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement said the airlines operated their last flight on May 4 this year. However, passengers could come to Bangladesh from Singapore.

The flight will leave Dhaka for Singapore at 8:30 am local time and depart Singapore at 3:50 pm local time.

To travel to Singapore, passengers must obtain a permit to enter the country from the Singapore authorities and receive a full dose of an approved Covid-19.

Passengers will be able to visit Singapore 14 days after taking two doses of either the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Sinopharm, or Sinovac vaccines, or a single-dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Passengers over the age of 12 must have a Covid test and negative certificate within a maximum of 48 hours before departure.

Upon arrival in Singapore, passengers must stay in hotel quarantine for 10 days. On the third and seventh day of the quarantine, antigen rapid tests should be conducted at one's own cost.

On the 10th day, a Covid-19 rt-PCR test should be done at one's own cost.

If traveling for a short period of time, passengers will have to undergo Covid-19 check-in at Changi Airport, for which online registration and fees have to be paid in advance.

Before going to Singapore, passengers need to download the “Trace Together” app on their mobile phones. No outsider can enter Singapore Airport to greet passengers.

If unvaccinated, incoming passengers will have to quarantine for 14 days.

In case of any Covid-19 symptoms during medical check-ups after landing at Dhaka airport, incoming passengers will have to stay in institutional quarantine at their expense at a government-designated hotel.
