A two-storey building housing a police outpost in Old Dhaka's Bangshal area has tilted towards a neighbouring facility, causing the policemen inside to leave the troubled building immediately.
However, no casualties were reported in the incident on Friday afternoon.
Sources at the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) confirmed the development, saying the incident took place around 3pm and the police personnel took shelter at a nearby tin-shed facility.
The regional executive officer, local reserved woman councillor and conservancy inspector, among others, visited the spot, the DSCC sources added.
A narrow lane between the tilted building and its neighbouring facility has been blocked and the movement of locals and vehicles in and around the site has been restricted to avoid any untoward situation.
