A Bangladeshi man was shot dead by miscreants in South Africa's Johannesburg on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Md Harun, 42, a resident of Noakhali.
The incident took place at his workplace in the Soweto area of Johannesburg city.
Noakhali's Narottampur Union Parishad (UP) Member Md Hanif said: "Harun went to Africa eight years ago. Two of his elder brothers were also living in Africa and in search of livelihood.
He started a business in the Soweto area with the help of his brothers. Harun has visited the country twice in the last eight years.”
Some local armed robbers attacked his establishment and fired at Harun on Saturday night. He was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the UP member added.
