Ten people were injured as the roof of an under-construction electric substation collapsed in Jessore on Thursday.
The incident took place in the city's Karbala area around 12pm.
The injured individuals are Tarikul, 45, Khokon, 30, Shimul, 28, Mominur, 27, Abdul Hai, 28, Elias, 45, Akidul, 35, Hafizur, 50, Iman Ali, 50 and Ziarul, 35.
The injured labourers reported they were working on the roof of the third floor of the under-construction electric substation in Karbala when it gave way, resulting in serious injuries.
They were later rescued by local individuals and fire service workers and admitted to the hospital.
Nahid Mamun, senior station manager of the Senanibas fire station, who was overseeing the rescue operations, stated: "The injured have been rescued and taken to the hospital. We are currently verifying if anyone else is trapped under the debris."
No statement has been received yet from the concerned contracting firm involved in the construction.
Jessore's Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge Md Tajul Islam said police have been deployed to the site of the incident.
